DIGITAL GROWTH STRATEGY

It is tempting to build next year's marketing plan by adding a little to last year's budget. That approach skips the questions that decide whether the year works: which service lines you want more of, which neighborhoods have room, what competitors are doing and how many jobs your crews can actually take on. We answer those questions first, then build a channel and budget plan that an HVAC, roofing or electrical business can execute with the people and trucks it has.

Market and competitor analysis looks at demand and supply in your actual service area. We review search demand for your core services by city, who shows up in the map pack and in paid search, how competitors position financing and warranties, and what their reviews say. For an electrician, that might reveal heavy competition for panel upgrades but few companies marketing EV charger installs in the suburbs you serve.

Channel strategy and budget planning give each channel a job. Paid search might capture urgent demand, Meta could promote maintenance plans in shoulder seasons, and SEO builds service-area pages over time. The budget follows your capacity by month, so an HVAC company is not paying for more July repair calls than its techs can run. Customer acquisition strategy sets target costs per booked job for each service line.

Full-funnel planning covers what happens after the click: how fast leads get a response, how estimates are followed up, and how past customers come back for maintenance and referrals. It all comes together in a written roadmap. The quarterly version lists initiatives with owners and target dates. The annual version sets direction, such as entering a new county or adding gutters to a roofing business, and is revisited each quarter.

OUTCOMES

Team planning session with sticky notes on a glass wall

A clear strategy keeps your team and vendors pulling in the same direction.

Without a shared plan, each vendor optimizes its own piece. The ads agency chases lead volume, the SEO firm chases rankings, and the office absorbs calls nobody planned for. A written strategy gives everyone the same targets and the same calendar, so whoever runs your ads knows when the install crew is booked out and when it needs more work.

A plan also makes saying no easier. Owners hear a steady stream of pitches for new platforms, directories and lead services. With a strategy in place, each pitch can be measured against it: does this serve a priority service line, a target area or a known funnel gap? If not, it waits, and budget stays on work already proving itself.

PROCESS

  1. Discover

Discovery covers interviews with you and key staff, a review of last year's spend, leads and booked jobs, a market and competitor study, and agreed growth targets by service line.

  2. Build

We write the channel plan, monthly budget, acquisition targets and quarterly roadmap, walk your team and vendors through it, and set up the reporting that will track progress against it.

  3. Optimize

Results are compared with the plan every month. Each quarter, priorities, budgets and roadmap items are revised based on booked jobs, crew capacity and any shifts in the competitive picture.

FAQ

Timing hinges on available data and how many service lines and locations are in scope. A single-location business with clean records moves faster than a multi-branch company with several vendors. We agree on a timeline and the meetings involved before work starts.

Not full financials. We need marketing spend by channel, lead and booked-job counts, average job values by service line and capacity limits such as crews and install slots per week. Margin information helps set realistic targets, but you decide how much to share.

Crowded is normal in home services, and the analysis looks for remaining gaps: underserved suburbs, neglected service lines, competitors with weak reviews or slow follow-up. Sometimes the answer is competing harder in one area and pulling back from another, and the plan says so.

Yes. The strategy is written so any vendor can execute it, giving your current agency clear targets and a shared calendar. We can join vendor meetings to align priorities. If something conflicts with the plan, we raise it, and the decision stays with you.
