AI STRATEGY & ROADMAPPING

AI products for home services are easy to find and hard to evaluate. Some answer calls, some draft estimates, some summarize jobs, and a few overlap with features already inside your CRM or field-service software. We start with your operation rather than the tools: where calls get missed, where office staff retype the same information, where follow-up on estimates slips. Then we match each problem to an AI option, or to a simpler fix, and rank them by likely payoff.

The readiness assessment checks the foundations AI depends on: whether your CRM data is clean, whether call recordings and job notes exist, who would own each tool, and how your team feels about new software. The process audit follows real work, such as a water damage call from first ring to dispatch, and marks each step where AI could answer, draft, sort or remind. Each candidate gets a written description.

Tool evaluation compares shortlisted options on what matters in daily use: how well they connect to your CRM and phone system, how they handle Spanish-speaking callers if you need that, what data they store and where, contract terms, and how easy they are to switch off. Where possible we run a short trial with your own scenarios, like a pest control customer asking whether a treatment is safe for pets.

Build-versus-buy recommendations come down to fit. Off-the-shelf tools usually win for common jobs like missed-call text-back or review requests. A custom build makes sense when your process is unusual or the data is sensitive, such as restoration moisture logs tied to insurance paperwork. The phased roadmap then sequences everything, starting with one or two quick, low-risk wins and moving to larger projects once the first ones are working and adopted.

OUTCOMES

Team planning session with sticky notes on a glass wall

A roadmap helps you invest in AI where it pays off first, and avoid tools you don't need.

Buying AI tools one at a time, as each sales pitch arrives, tends to leave a company with overlapping subscriptions and a team that uses none of them well. A roadmap guards against that by tying every purchase to a specific problem and a measure of success, such as fewer missed calls or faster estimate turnaround, before any money is committed.

Sequencing also protects your customers. Putting an AI voice agent on the phones before your call scripts, scheduling rules and service-area limits are written down risks giving homeowners wrong answers. A phased plan gets those foundations in place first, so automation reflects how your business actually works when it goes live, and your staff trust it enough to use it.

PROCESS

  1. Discover

We sit down with the owner and office staff, observe how calls, dispatch and follow-up actually run, review your current software, and agree on the problems any AI must be judged against.

  2. Build

We score use cases on value and effort, test shortlisted tools against your real scenarios, write build-versus-buy recommendations and deliver a phased roadmap with named owners, timelines and success measures.

  3. Optimize

As phases launch, we review adoption, usage and results monthly, retire tools that are not earning their place, and adjust the roadmap as new products appear and your priorities change.

FAQ

We build some AI systems ourselves, such as AI voice agents, and say so when we recommend them. The assessment compares our options against third-party tools on the same criteria, and sometimes the right answer is a feature you already pay for.

Rarely, though the scope scales down. A small plumbing shop might need only a short assessment and a few recommendations, such as automated estimate follow-up and review requests. Larger operations with several locations need more process mapping and a longer roadmap.

Data handling is part of every tool evaluation. We check what each product stores, where and for how long, and whether it is used for model training, then flag anything that conflicts with your policies. We favor tools that keep you in control.

A written assessment, ranked use cases with expected effort, tool recommendations with build-versus-buy reasoning, and a phased roadmap showing what to do first, who owns it and how success is measured. We walk your team through it in a working session.
