ATTRIBUTION & REVENUE INTELLIGENCE

A storm rolls through, your roofing crews are booked solid, and every channel claims credit for it. Attribution helps sort that out. We connect each signed contract and paid invoice to the campaign, search or referral that started the relationship, then follow it through inspection, estimate and close. In restoration, that includes jobs that sit in insurance paperwork for weeks before revenue lands. The result is a revenue view by channel that reflects what got paid, not what got clicked.

It starts with a source on every lead: UTM parameters and click IDs on forms, tracking numbers on calls, and a required source field for leads the office enters by hand. We then choose a model that fits your sales cycle. A plumbing service call often closes on the first visit, so first touch works. A roof replacement may take several touches, so we compare first and last touch side by side.

Marketing-to-revenue reporting matches those sources to invoiced amounts in your CRM or field-service software. From there we calculate customer acquisition cost per channel and estimate lifetime value from repeat work: the water heater customer who later calls for a repipe, or the drain cleaning customer who signs up for an annual inspection. LTV estimates use your own history, improve as more data accumulates, and always come with their assumptions stated.

Channel contribution analysis looks at how sources work together. Branded searches can rise after a direct mail drop or a neighborhood yard-sign push, and judging by last click alone would hand all of the credit to Google. Lead-to-sale reporting shows how long leads from each source take to close and where deals stall, such as roofing estimates waiting on insurance adjusters or plumbing quotes that never got a follow-up call.

OUTCOMES

Knowing which channels produce profitable customers lets you invest with confidence.

Cost per lead can point you in the wrong direction. A channel with cheap leads may produce small repairs and price shoppers, while a pricier source brings in the full replacements that carry your margins. Attribution tied to invoices shows which is which, so you can fund sources that produce profitable customers and trim those that mainly fill the call log.

It matters most at budget time. When a restoration owner plans next year's spend, knowing which sources produced paid water mitigation jobs, and how long each took to collect, turns the plan into a calculation rather than a guess. The same view lets you judge a new channel after a fair trial period instead of cutting it before results could appear.

PROCESS

  1. Discover

We map how a lead becomes revenue in your business, from first contact through estimate, approval and payment, and check where your CRM records source, job value and close date today.

  2. Build

We close gaps in source capture, connect CRM revenue to marketing data, set the attribution model and build revenue-by-channel reports, then test them against a sample of recently closed jobs.

  3. Optimize

Monthly revenue reviews compare acquisition cost by channel, flag sources that look strong on leads but weak on revenue, and lead to a recommendation on where budget should shift next.

FAQ

No single model is best. Short cycles like emergency plumbing suit simpler models, while roofing and restoration jobs with several touches benefit from comparing more than one view. We choose a primary model with you, explain its blind spots and keep the alternatives visible.

Only as far back as your data is clean. Leads saved without a source cannot be reliably attributed later. We usually report forward from the setup date and backfill earlier months where call tracking, ad data and CRM records make it possible.

Partly. Repeat customers can be linked to their original source if the CRM keeps one record per household. Referrals depend on your team asking how the customer heard about you and recording the answer, so we build that question into intake.

That depends on your volume and sales cycle. A plumbing company with steady calls sees patterns sooner than a roofer whose replacements close over weeks. We tell you up front which conclusions the data supports at each stage and which need more time.
